Tim Bosson is an Associate in the Metro DC office of the Firm. Mr. Bosson’s practice primarily includes civil and business litigation, representation of for-profit and not-for-profit corporations and Churches, and employment law. Mr. Bosson has represented businesses, non-profit corporations, individuals and church corporations involved in lawsuits in both Federal and Virginia trial courts.
Practice Areas
Mr. Bosson has extensive experience litigating cases in the following areas:
● Constitutional Law – representing Churches and other entities in cases involving Federal Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA) violations, zoning disputes, tax exemption and religious discrimination.
● Employment litigation – representing individuals in cases regarding Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) violations, Federal Title VII claims, VA State Wage and Hour violations, unemployment compensation disputes, pregnancy discrimination, retaliation and breach of employment contract issues.
● Business litigation – representing corporations and individuals in cases regarding state business torts, including trade secret, hiring, non-competition, and fiduciary duty violations. Mr. Bosson also has extensive experience litigating an assortment of contracts, construction agreements, loan documents and other written or oral agreements.
● Personal Injury – Mr. Bosson has represented numerous individuals who have suffered traumatic injuries, including wrongful deaths, from car or pedestrian accidents, slip and falls, and intentional assaults. Mr. Bosson also concentrates in insurance coverage disputes.
Representative Cases
Riverdale Baptist Church, et. al., v. Anne Arundel County (US District Court of Maryland, JFM 06-CV-2796, 2010). A RLUIPA case where Anne Arundel County created discriminatory zoning and land use regulations that prevented the Church from building a facility for its Christian school. Three weeks in to a hotly contested jury trial the County conceded and agreed to allow the Church to build its private school and paid $3.25 million dollars.
Estate of Kyle Hoffman, Jr. v. State Farm Mutual Insurance Company (Jefferson County, WV Circuit Court, 09-C-415, 2011). An insurance coverage dispute related to a wrongful death caused by a car accident. Jury found for our client and awarded the $1 million dollars of insurance available.
Glassman v. The First Baptist Church of Clarendon (US District Court for Eastern VA, 1:09cv1249, 2010), et. al. –The Church was wrongly accused of violating the Establishment Clause when it worked with Arlington County to build a facility to house the Church and eight stories of low-income housing. The Church won at the Trial level and won on appeal to the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.
NorthStar Foundation, LLC v. County of Fairfax (Fairfax County Circuit Court, 2010-06314, 2010) –County wrongly denied the organization a property tax exemption. Two weeks before Trial, County relented and dismissed five years of prior tax assessments.
First Assembly of God of Alexandria, Ind. v. Cathedral Design & Construction, Inc. (US District Court for Eastern VA, 1:08cv01053, 2009). Construction management company failed to discover property encumbrance which disallowed Church to build its desired sanctuary. Church received a Default Judgment against the Company for the amount it lost of $315,000 dollars.
Little v. Muslu (Arlington County Circuit Court, 07-1255, 2008). Represented the family of a young man who was killed in a car accident. Successfully litigated case through three preliminary dismissal attempts made by Defendants. Settled case in mediation for full insurance policy limits.
Pierce v. Staib and Ash (2009). Successfully settled the case at mediation with three separate insurance policies in favor of the victim’s Estate for $670,000 dollars.
Angel Flight of Ga., Inc. v. Angel Flight Am., Inc. (US District Court for Northern GA, 1:03-CV-3620-JTC, 2007). Filed post-trial and appellate briefs with the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals as an intervening party trying to overturn unfavorable Trademark litigation verdict.
McGlen v. Barrett (Fairfax County Circuit Court, 2007-12720, 2009). Successfully represented sellers in suit brought by purchaser over property sales contract (Published in VA Lawyer’s Weekly: April 13, 2009).
Harbor View Contractors v. Community Church of Ashburn (American Arbitration Association, 16 E 110 00287 08, 2009). Successfully litigated a counter-claim against the building contractors for breach of contract. Settled in favor of the Church during a four day AAA construction arbitration. Final settlement included dismissal of the original claim against the Church and a confidential monetary settlement for the counter-claim.
Vidal v. Ronnie Shriner Insurance Agency, Inc. (Richmond General District Court, GV10045097-00, 2011). Successfully litigated a claim for a FLSA violation, court awarded the client twice her amount of lost wages, plus her attorney fees.

Currently, Mr. Bosson serves on the Board of Little Lights Urban Ministry in Southeast Washington, DC and is a Deacon at Guilford Baptist Church. Mr. Bosson is also the proud new owner of a ridiculously good looking golden retriever named Atticus.
