Thomas Brown

 

Tom is a seasoned trial lawyer and a Partner in the firm’s Baltimore office. He has prevailed in numerous multi-week trials, and in arbitral and appellate practice. Tom has obtained recovery of nearly $200 million in affirmative claims, most notably as co-lead counsel in the Francis Scott Key Bridge litigation. Other case experience has involved major vessel collisions, aviation disasters, government contracts, cargo losses, charter disputes, shipboard fires, heavylift claims, shipyard claims, environmental claims, and other personal injury and wrongful death claims.

Before coming to private practice, Tom spent over a decade practicing law for the aviation and admiralty section of the Department of Justice, where he served as a senior counsel. He is intimately familiar with the practice and procedure of government litigation. His entire career has been connected to the maritime industry, including sailing on merchant ships, serving in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a Captain, and teaching at the Texas A&M Maritime Academy.

He is available for emergency response to casualties and investigations.
